TRAILS

West Mabou Trails

All the trails within the park are rated easy. The trails are in two sections, joined via the Old Ferry Road Trail. On the beach or Northumberland side, ( where the trails can be accessed at the main beach parking lot or along the beach road) , one can walk the bluffs along the top of the beach, an area that was once farm land, or you can follow some of the side paths leading to several sink holes , good examples of karst topography.

The trails on the Mabou Harbour side are more extensive . You can enter this network of trails from the main beach road ( off the Old Ferry Road Trail), or off the West Mabou road where the pavement ends. On these trails you will follow some old roads used years ago by the locals. You will pass through woodlands , travel by coves, walk along ponds, view tidal flats , estuaries, and look across the Harbour to the lighthouse , and view the mountains of the Mabou Highlands.
